Ways to Donate to ICS

Donations are the fuel that powers ICS’s ability to help families and individuals who are in need in our community. With more people than ever before turning to ICS, your support is vitally important. Over half of the operating revenues for ICS come from individual donations. Your gift will help keep the lights on and the doors open so ICS can continue to provide compassionate assistance to the thousands who rely on us.

There are a variety of ways to make financial gifts to ICS. Cash donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.

For more information on cash donations, employer matching gifts, or event sponsorships, contact Kim (520) 526-9293 or email give@icstucson.org.

Donating Stocks, Bonds, and Securities

By using stocks, bonds or other securities to fund a charitable gift to an organization like ICS, you may completely avoid the capital gains tax while enjoying a federal income tax deduction for the full value of the securities.

Stock Transfer

It′s an easy 2-step process!

Step 1: Ask your broker to transfer assets to the Interfaith Community Services account. To transfer stock to Interfaith Community Services, please provide your broker with the following information:

Account Name: Interfaith Community Services

Give a QCD From Your IRA

If you are 70½ years of age, or older, you can give up to $105,000 annually from your IRA directly to a qualified charity or charities without having to pay income taxes on those funds. For married couples, each spouse can make a Qualified Charitable Donation.

Beginning in the year you turn 73, you can also use a QCD to satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution (RMD) and reduce your taxable income, even if you do not itemize deductions.

  • To qualify, the gift must come directly from your financial institution to ICS.
  • QCDs are not reported as taxable income and may help donors avoid being pushed into higher income tax brackets and prevent phaseouts of other tax deductions.
  • Your IRA plan administrator can advise and help you initiate the transfer.

Corporate Matching Gifts

Corporate matching gifts are a great way to maximize personal contributions to Interfaith Community Services and increase the impact of your gift. Many companies offer a matching gifts program through which they will match employee and/or retiree charitable contributions annually, dollar-for-dollar, up to a certain amount per company policy.

If you work for or are retired from a company that matches employee gifts, please contact your Human Resources Office directly for instructions on how to obtain a matching gift form. Please send it to us, along with your contribution, and we will complete the form for your company’s matching gift. Many companies also offer online options for submitting a matching gift or also offer payroll deduction programs.

Workplace Giving

If your employer participates in the Combined Federal Campaign, the United Way Campaign, other workplace campaigns, or their own campaign, you can direct your donation to benefit Interfaith Community Services. When you choose to designate ICS, your gift is used to help seniors, disabled individuals and disadvantaged families in your local community.

Many employers have “matching gift” programs to encourage individual giving by their employees. Check to see if your employer might match your donation to Interfaith Community Services, or contact Kim (520) 526-9293 or email give@icstucson.org, if you would like ICS to provide information to your employer.

If you are participating in a workplace giving program that has not assigned us a code, please write us in as “Interfaith Community Services Tucson.”

Gifts of Love

The holidays are an especially challenging time for the Pima County families who turn to ICS for help to meet their basic needs. As you prepare for your holiday celebration, please consider adopting a family who does not have the resources to buy clothes or gifts. The ICS holiday Gifts of Love is a wonderful way to bring together friends, neighbors, co-workers, or members of your faith community to celebrate the true spirit of the season. Each year many families have a happier holiday thanks to the generosity of our supporters.

ICS will choose a family who meets your donation abilities and provide you with their clothing sizes and gift suggestions to make shopping easy. Gifts can be dropped off at the ICS offices or arrangements can be made for you to take gifts directly to your sponsored family or individual. Gifts of Love operates from November through the end of the holidays in December.

Can’t commit to a full family donation? Consider making a monetary donation by contacting Kimberly Castro kcastro@icstucson.org. You can also make a donation here.
